Christian Eriksen Set for Italian Move?
When Tottenham Hotspur star Christian Eriksen signed for Tottenham Hotspur, it was expected to be a short-term move. Seen as one of the brightest players in the world at the time, his move to Spurs was a major surprise. However, he’s shone at the North London outfit and has, until the last 18 months, been arguably their most talented player. However, that looks set to change.
Contracted until June 2020, Eriksen looks set to leave on a free come the end of the 2019-20 season. He’s apparently told Jose Mourinho and co. that he won’t be sticking around, and that an extension is not on the cards. Having been linked to Real Madrid and Barcelona in the past, it seems like a move to Italy is the most likely outcome.
Eriksen is being linked with a move to Germany, too, but the strongest links are with Internazionale and Juventus. The two Italian giants could offer him the route to trophies that Spurs have not. Seen as the ideal type of player for the Italian game, Eriksen would make an excellent addition to the growing number of stars at either club.
Sprus, though, look set to lose out one of their best players without any compensation. Alongside fellow ex-Ajax teammates Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen, it would be a huge blow to Spurs to see so much talent walk out of the door for nothing. As it stands, though, either Inter or Juve are most likely to profit from that situation.
